To pre-register to deliver your baby at Regional, please call (408) 729-2828 or come to the Admitting office Monday through Friday 6 am to 6 pm or Saturday and Sunday 7 am to 4 pm in person to complete pre-registration paperwork. Hospital & Maternity Tours
We offer tours of Regional Medical Center of San Jose and our maternity department every Monday night from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There is no need to register for the tours, just meet in the hospital lobby at 7:00 pm and one of our instructors will be there to greet you. Following the tour, time is provided to answer questions while enjoying refreshments. Please note hospital tours will not be given on Holidays.

Breastfeeding Prenatal - English & Spanish
Our Breastfeeding Prenatal class is a 2 hour class offered one day a month on either Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm or Tuesdays from 5 pm to 7 pm. The class includes information on the benefits of breastfeeding for mom & baby, breast anatomy, milk production, positioning techniques, pumping & storage of breast milk, weaning breastfeeding, working mothers, and time for questions & answers. The instructor for this course is bilingual in English and Spanish. The cost of this class is $30.00 (per couple) for all students who are NOT pre-registered for delivery at Regional Medical Center. If you are pre-registered at Regional this class is FREE.

Childbirth Preparation - English
Our Childbirth class is a five-week series held one day a week from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm on Mondays or Thursdays. The class includes a guide through the labor & delivery process, role of the coach, breathing & relaxation techniques, medication & anesthesia options, cesarean birth, post-partum recovery, & infant care. Frequently this course also includes a presentation from a physical therapist & anesthesiologist. The cost of this class is $60.00 (per couple) for all students who are NOT pre-registered for delivery at Regional Medical Center. If you are pre-registered at Regional this class is FREE.

Childbirth Express - English
Our Childbirth Express class is for experienced moms or soon-to-be moms who are close to their delivery date. The course focus is an overview of the birthing process. (See topics covered in the childbirth preparation class, excluding infant care). Our Childbirth Express class is a one day class, held on scheduled Saturdays from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. The cost of the class is $35.00 (per couple) for those students who are NOT pre-registered for delivery at Regional. If you are pre-registered at Regional the class is FREE.

Infant Care - English
Our Infant Care class covers the basics of caring for your newborn infant & is held on Sundays from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. This class is recommended for those couples that are registered for the Express childbirth class. The cost of the Infant Care class is $30.00 (per couple) for those students who are NOT pre-registered for delivery at Regional Medical Center. If you are pre-registered at Regional this class is FREE.

Pregnancy Exercise
This exercise class is taught by a licensed physical therapist that is bilingual in Spanish and English. Participants are either pregnant or have recently delivered and have consulted with their physician prior to starting the class. Each participant should bring a towel or exercise mat and pillows.
Classes are held: Every Saturday from 8:00 - 8:45 am
Class Location: Rehab Gym, 1st floor of Regional Medical Center of San Jose
Fee: $10 per class; Free for expectant mothers delivering at Regional and Regional's hospital employees

Pilates
Pilates is an innovative form of exercise designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, posture and core control. Do you know what exercises to do to protect your back and strengthen your abdominals? Come find out and learn why pilates is so popular. Each participant should bring a towel or exercise mat and wear appropriate clothing.

CPR Instruction
In A Heartbeat offers CPR classes to the public. Please visit their web site below or contact them by phone. The classes are recommended for teachers, coaches, parents, children and those with elderly family and friends. The instructors are American Heart Association trained and certified.

Life After Stroke Exercise Class
In addition to the Stroke Support Group, a post-stroke exercise class is available. This class offers a customized exercise program for individuals who have suffered a stroke. The class is part of an overall treatment plan for participants through their rehabilitation and helps them include exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle. A friendly, dedicated and understanding staff of professional physical and occupational therapists teaches this exercise program which is tailored to meet the needs of each participant.
